JAKARTA - The Legislation Body (Baleg) of the DPR cannot decide whether to accept or reject the issuance of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perppu) Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation, because until now it has not received an official manuscript from the government.It is known that the Perppu, which was pressured by President Joko Widodo on Friday, December 30, has drawn a lot of rejection from members of the DPR and various parties, especially the workers. Especially regarding changes to the rules of holidays and worker leave."So far we have not been able to act, because the Perppu has not been widely circulated, and has not been officially sent to the DPR," said Deputy Chairman of the DPR Baleg, Achmad Baidowi or Awiek, when contacted, Monday, January 2.The secretary of the DPR PPP faction hopes that the government will immediately send an official manuscript when the council members open the session period on January 10. Moreover, the issuance of the Perppu is a concern for all parties, especially regarding the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) which mandates to improve the Job Creation Law."Usually, during the next session it will be officially sent. Because this is related to the technical formation of the legislation, and the Constitutional Court's decision that the legislators are given two years to follow up on the Constitutional Court's decision," explained Awiek."As stipulated in the law on the formation of laws and regulations or PPP, that every government proposes a Perppu, the DPR will give its approval or rejection during the next session," he continued.
