Polda Metro Jaya Gerebek 11 Hektare Ladang Ganja In North Sumatra
The Directorate of Drug Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya raided 11 hectares of marijuana fields in the East Panyabungan area, Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra, Saturday.
"This activity is carried out as the peak of taking action against marijuana trafficking during 2022 with suspects who own land, porters, buyers, couriers, and controllers," said Director of Drug Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Mukti Juharsa in a written statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Sunday 25 December.
Mukti explained that the marijuana field was found for the development of drug cases carried out with the Madina Police.
He further explained that there were two marijuana fields that had been found.
The first field has an area of approximately 3 hectares and the second field has an area of approximately 8 hectares.
Each land is planted with cannabis plants aged 3-4 months. Marijuana plants are generally ready to be harvested after 7 months old.
According to the calculation of officers in the field, one square meter of land can be filled with five stems of marijuana trees, so the fields are estimated to produce 55 tons of wet marijuana in one harvest.
"It is calculated that 11 hectares are multiplied by 5 tons, so that once the harvest produces 55 tons of wet marijuana," said Mukti.
