Terrorism Convict from Muna Southeast Sulawesi Freed from Penitentiary in Metro Lampung
BANDAR LAMPUNG - Muhammad Fajar AP, a terror convict of the Daulah Islamiyah network from Watonea Village, Kota Batu District, Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province, who is serving a term of detention at the Class IIA Penitentiary in Metro Lampung City, has been released.
The release was based on Release Letter Number W9.PAS.5.PK.01.01.02-219 from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) of the Republic of Indonesia Regional Office (Kanwil) Lampung, Class IIA Lapas Kota Metro.
The release of the terrorism convicts was also closely guarded by the Metro Resort Police and the TNI from Kodim 0411/KM.
Muhammad Fajar AP Alias La Kojo bin Laode Guru Tua (45) left for Raden Inten Airport in Lampung with a tight escort from several Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-terror personnel at the National Police Headquarters.
Head of Class IIA prison for Metro City, Muhammad Mulyana, said the terrorism convict was released after serving a detention period of approximately 77 days at the local prison.
"Today the acquitted in the terrorism case, Muhammad Fajar AP, alias La Kojo bin Laode Guru Tua, was released, convicted of 3 years and 6 months. We received the person concerned from the Gunung Sindur Class IIA Lapas, Bogor, West Java Province, dated October 4, 2022. More or less, almost 3 months here", he said as reported by ANTARA, Monday, December 19.
Mulyana explained that the terrorism convicts received reduced prison terms after pledging allegiance to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) and good behavior during their prison terms.
"Based on these conditions, the person concerned received a reduction in sentence. However, we received a letter of decision for reducing the sentence and it has been processed, so this morning the person concerned has finished serving his sentence", he said.

According to him, the release carried out was the result of coordination with Densus 88 Anti-terror Police Headquarters and the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT).
"Actually, we have coordinated this with the Densus and BNPT, where the person concerned will immediately be returned to his hometown by the Densus. Because the schedule for the plane to fly there is at 7 in the morning. So we calculated that we would arrive at the airport at half past 6 in the morning, so we release him from the Metro City Class IIA prison", he said.
Mulyana explained, currently, there are only two prisoners remaining in the Class IIA Metro prison, namely ASH alias Abu Dita bin M Zaenudin, and K alias Kres alias Sumari bin Hasim.
Muhammad Fajar AP Alias La Kojo bin Laode Guru Tua (45) was transferred from Gunung Sindur Prison, Bogor, West Java to the Metro City Class IIA prison on Tuesday, October 4 around 23.00 WIB.
He was arrested last December 2020, after carrying out a long process of examination and trial, and the terrorism convict was proven legally and convincingly guilty of committing criminal acts of terrorism.
Muhammad Fajar AP Alias La Kojo was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months. Some evidence belonging to him was confiscated by the state to be destroyed. The evidence secured included a long-barreled gun, an FN-type firearm, and a black Vivo cell phone.
