The Availability Of The 2023 Excise Band Is Safe, The Director General Of Customs And Excise Continues To Socialize To Tobacco Products Business Actors

The Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) stated that the availability of excise stamps for the 2023 fiscal year is ensured to be safe.

Head of the Communication and Information Service Bureau of the Ministry of Finance, Rahayu Puspasari, said that the 2023 Excise Band Provision Application (P3C) process could be carried out through the Ex Sis application by factory/importer entrepreneurs shortly after the re-establishment process was successfully carried out.

"Regarding the availability of excise stamps, DJBC has coordinated with the excise band provider consortium to assess the readiness of the consortium in printing excise stamps for the 2023 fiscal year," he said in an official statement on Monday, December 19.

According to Rahayu, from this coordination, the consortium guarantees the availability of excise stamps in 2023 in early January 2023.

"To support the smooth running of this transition period, DJBC will conduct policy socialization to the association of tobacco products industry business actors," he said.

Rahayu also said that the 10 percent average increase in tobacco excise rates (CHT) in the next two years has the potential to increase the circulation of illegal cigarettes.

For this reason, his party continues to make efforts to supervise and take action, both preventive and repressive.

"In 2022, more than 37.000 illegal cigarette prosecutions have been successfully carried out. This figure has increased by almost 28 percent from prosecution in 2021," he said.

According to VOI records, the government has increased the state revenue target from excise on tobacco products to IDR 232.58 trillion in 2023. This figure is higher than the 2022 target of IDR 216.82 trillion.
