The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will investigate the flow of bribes received by the Deputy Chairman of the East Java DPRD, Sahat Tua, P. Simandjuntak. Including, the possibility of money entering the Golkar Party.Sahat is the Secretary of the East Java Golkar Party DPD. He has joined the party bearing the banyan symbol since 1990."If it is related, of course, whenever it can be appointed," said Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Johanis Tanak to reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, December 16.Even so, Johanis said that his party would first investigate the alleged bribery in the management of grant funds in East Java that ensnared Sahat. The KPK does not want to investigate this case beyond the deadline."We will focus first here, we will see how the progress is," he said.Johanis said, Sahat and three other suspects must be held accountable for their actions in court. Thus, the KPK will move quickly."If we miss the deadline, the suspects (there are, red) will be released by law, we don't fit into it if we focus too much on others," he said.Sahat was named a suspect along with three other people. They are the expert staff, Rusdi; Abdul Hamid who is the Head of Jelgung Village, Robatal District, Sampang Regency who is also the Coordinator of the Community Group; and Ilham Wahyudi alias Eeng who is the Coordinator of the Pokmas Field.The determination of Sahat and three other suspects was made after they were caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT) on Wednesday, December 14. This action is based on information from the public who know about the handover of money related to the management of the allocation of grant funds.In this case, Sahat allegedly offered assistance to facilitate the proposed grant funds, which totaled Rp7.8 trillion. This provision is intended for bodies, institutions, community organizations in the East Java Provincial Government.Sahat received from 2021 and continued until 2022 and then agreed to help for 2023 and 2024. The money received by the Golkar Party politician is thought to have reached Rp5 billion.
