Residents Affected by the Cianjur Earthquake Start to Get Diseases, Health Office: At Most ARI There Are Already 2,000 People

CIANJUR - The Cianjur District Health Office, West Java, reported that around 2,000 earthquake evacuees in Cianjur District were attacked by acute respiratory infections (ARI).

"According to the cumulative ARI, there have been 2,000 people, under 2,000 with diarrhea and 1,000 with hypertension," said Head of the Cianjur Regency Health Service Dr. Irvan Nur Fauzy who was met at the Cianjur Regent's Office Hall, Antara, Tuesday, November 29.

Apart from ARI, said Dr. Ivan, other diseases that have affected evacuees after the Cianjur earthquake were diarrhea and hypertension.

He said the Cianjur District Health Office also pays attention to refugees who have comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, and tuberculosis.

"We also pay attention to comorbid patients, especially those with diabetes and hypertension as well as tuberculosis. As well as how to continue treatment for patients with mental disorders," he said.

Entering the ninth day after the earthquake, said Dr. Ivan, his party is focusing on prevention efforts so that refugees are not exposed to environmental-based diseases that have the potential to be outbreaks such as ARI, diarrhea, and hypertension.

One of the efforts is to establish four field health centers in the Cijedil, Cugenang, Nagrak, and Warung Kondang areas, Cianjur Regency.

"The main health centers are in Cijedil, Nagrak, Cugenang, and Warung Kondang. It's still running. Then we support at four points, namely Nagrak one field health center, Cugenang two field health centers and Warung Kondang one field health center," he said.
