Reply To Turkish Attack, PKK Serang Karkamis From Syria: Three Died And Six Injured

Three people were killed and six others injured in an attack launched from Syria across the border by the Syrian wing of the PKK terrorist group, the YPG, on Monday against Karkam

Home Minister Suleyman Soylu said the death toll of three people, among them a child and a teacher, had previously Governor Gaziantep Davut Gul announced two people were killed and six others injured.

"We would like to tell our nation that, after yesterday's operation, where terrorist organizations suffered heavy losses, responses would also be given to this attack in the best possible way possible and necessary steps would be taken. Terrorist organizations will not be given the opportunity to stay inside and outside our borders," Minister Soylu told reporters in the capital Ankara., reported Daily Sabah November 21.

Preliminary reports showed there were a number of people injured when a rocket hit an upper-middle school, two houses and a truck near the Karkam handicraft Border Gate.

Speaking similarly of the attack, the Ministry of Defense said the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) continued to respond to the attack.

"The traitors, who demonstrated the care to target even schools, were held accountable for what they did, and they continued to do so. TSK responded to the attack in the same way," the ministry said in a written statement.

The attack came a day after at least eight security personnel, including seven police officers and one soldier, were injured on Sunday by a similar terrorist rocket attack.

The rocket fired by members of the terrorist group YPG/PKK in Tal Rifaat, northern Syria, hit a police Special Operations post located at the Kilis Kilis 14.

The YPG/PKK is said to have illegal hiding places across the border in northern Syria, an area partially under opposition control and partly controlled by terrorists where the group planned and carried out attacks on Turkey.

Earlier, Turkey announced on Sunday morning it had launched air operations against the PKK/YPG terrorist group in northern Syria and northern Iraq, where the terrorist groups also have hiding places they use to plan and launch attacks against Turkey.

The operation follows a terrorist attack last Sunday on Jalan Istiklal, a bustling Istanbul, killing at least six people and causing 81 others to be injured. The Turkish government said the attack was carried out by the PKK/YPG terrorist group.
