So That It Doesn't Rain In The G20 Summit Area, 3 Cassa Aircraft Spread Garam Seeds In Bali Region
The Indonesian Air Force Base at Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport (Bizam) together with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) conducted a Weather Modification Technology (TMC) operation to support the G20 high-level conference (KTT) in Bali on November 15-16, 2022."This weather modification is in order to support the G20 in Bali so that it runs smoothly," said Zainuddin Abdul Madjid Air Base Commander, Colonel Pnb R. Endri Kargono while reviewing the flight of a weather modification aircraft at Lombok International Airport, West Nusa Tenggara, Antara, Monday, November 14.In this operation, three Cassa planes were flown to spread salt seeds in the Bali area, with the hope that rain would not occur in the G20 location area. As for the personnel involved, there are 30 members consisting of two integrated posts."The target for this weather modification is in the north to prevent clouds from entering, so that it doesn't rain," he said. This activity was carried out from November 13-16 or until the G20 activities were completed in Bali. This operation is carried out according to the target, when there is a potential for plane rain to be flown to seed salt seeds so that it does not rain."Hopefully this weather modification will run safely and the G20 will run smoothly and successfully," he said.Meanwhile, Limnology Research Main Expert Engineer at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Tri Handoko, said this activity was carried out in the context of weather modifications to support the security of the G20 in Bali in the hope that activities would not be disturbed by rain.President Jokowi and the head of state in the G20 will gather outside open spaces, so he hopes that the Indonesian Air Force will be assigned to create conditions for not rain at the location of the G20 activities."This is so that it doesn't rain at the location of the G20 activities," he said.He said the threat of potential rain in the 2022/2023 rainy season was quite large, so in this modification there were four aircraft involved, namely three from the Indonesian Air Force Bizam and 1 from the Banyuwangi Air Force to collaborate in these activities."We hope this operation is successful, so that the president and head of state can carry out G20 activities safely and comfortably," he said.Separately, Aviation First Lieutenant Edwin Aldrin said the Squadron 4 Team was part of the TMC element in collaboration with the National Research and Innovation Agency to make salt seeding with the weather modification technology team (TMC) of the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT).The modified Cassa aircraft can accommodate consoles (sal reservoirs) up to 800 kilograms per plane. In addition, the Cassa aircraft can eject salt at an altitude of 7 thousand to 10 thousand feet."TMC is carried out to prevent the phenomenon of tropical cyclones that trigger high rainfall in the Bali and Lombok regions in supporting the smooth running of the G20 Summit in Bali," he said.
