DKI Residents Caught By Drones Disposing Garbage Carelessly Will Be Fined, Gerindra Asks For Expanded Monitoring Locations
JAKARTA - The chairman of the Gerindra faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Nurhasan, supports the steps taken by the Acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta, Heru Budi Hartono, to initiate the use of drones to carry out Hand Catching Operations (OTT) for residents who dispose of litter.
According to Nurhasan, monitoring littering using drones can be a deterrent effect for DKI residents so they don't pollute the environment.
"In my opinion, it is good because what we are looking for is a domino effect or a deterrent effect from the community.
This does not mean that this is punishment, but looking for a deterrent effect," said Nurhasan when contacted, Tuesday, November 8.
Nurhasan views, currently there are still a number of people who still litter, especially when there are no officers to supervise. Meanwhile, by using drones, this behavior can be monitored without them knowing.
Nurhasan also suggested that the OTT for littering be expanded to a number of areas. So far, the DKI Provincial Government has only implemented a policy of using drones to monitor residents who litter on car-free days (HBKB) or car-free days (CFD).
"In my opinion, it needs to be added, especially at points where people are actually littering. It can be applied (OTT using drones) like that," said Nurhasan.

Furthermore, Nurhasan also suggested that the supervision of waste disposal using this drone should also be placed in the riverbank area. Because, there are still residents who often throw garbage at that location and cause flooding.
"It can be expanded, especially at points where people find littering. It can be applied like that. The troublesome thing is that on the banks of the river it is operating and monitoring and maintaining (drones). Therefore, it is necessary to work together with the local RT/RW to carry out supervision and maintenance," explained Nurhasan.
The DKI Provincial Government held an OTT using drones to find people who littered during CFD in the Sudirman-Thamrin area on Sunday, November 6.
The Provincial HBKB enforcement posts in Sudirman Thamrin were held in 7 locations, namely, in front of the Jaya Building, Jalan Sumenep, in front of the Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, Sudirman Statue Fly Over, in front of the Chase Plaza Building, CIMB Building and FX Sudirman Mall. A total of 194 supervisory officers were deployed.
The Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency, Asep Kuswanto, said that the OTT was carried out conventionally with a drone belonging to the DKI Kominfotik Service.
"We use drones to take action against violators who litter in HBKB activities at the Provincial level, HBKB at the City level, and the identified locations are often found by residents who litter," Asep told reporters, Sunday, November 6.
Based on the waste OTT activities at that time, there were 15 violators who were subject to forced money fines. The DKI Provincial Government has collected a total fine of IDR 710,000 and 4 violators who have been given social sanctions have collected garbage at the location.
"This activity will be routinely carried out in the future according to the direction of the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta," continued Asep.
