Kominfo Distributes Free STB To Facilitate Analog To Digital TV Migration, Recipients Are Recorded In PPKE Data
TANGERANG - The Ministry of Communications and Informatics of Tangerang City noted that until October 4, 2022, the number of Set Top Boxes (STB) distributed by the Ministry of Communications and Informatics to local city residents was 24,017 units.
"Data from the Ministry of Communications and Informatics as of October 4, 2022, free STB assistance that has been distributed in Tangerang City is 24,017 units. Currently the number is definitely increasing," said Head of the Tangerang City Communications and Information Office Indri Astuti in a statement in Tangerang, quoted from Antara, Sunday 6 November.
Indri explained that the free STB was distributed to the people listed in the Central Government's Targeting for the Acceleration of the Elimination of Extreme Poverty (PPKE).
The PPKE data is the result of updating the Indonesian family database by the National Population and Family Planning Agency (PK-BKKBN).
Indri said the program for switching analogue television broadcasts to digital was one of the national programs through the Ministry of Communication and Informatics in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs.
At the beginning of the program's launch, said Indri, the Tangerang City Government was asked by Kominfo to collect data on residents who were deemed entitled to receive STB assistance.
“As support, we are following up on the requested data through the Saba Kota application. However, this is only data collection to be submitted to the Ministry," he said.
