150 Houses In East Aceh Were Inundated By Floods, BPBD Alert For Emergency Response Handling
JAKARTA - The flood has caused 150 houses to be inundated in Jambo Labu Village, Bireum Bayeun District, East Aceh Regency, Aceh Province.Head of BPBD East Aceh Regency Ashadi said the floods had been triggered by heavy rains in the last few days and caused river water to overflow, flooding residential areas."Flooding has reached as many adults as possible," said Ashadi in East Aceh, quoted from Antara, Friday, November 4.According to Ashadi, the flood had not yet forced residents to evacuate. Residents whose neighborhoods are flooded still survive in their homes. However, he reminded residents to increase vigilance and immediately evacuate if the height of the inundation continued to increase."We continue to monitor flood developments and alert personnel, including preparing emergency response handling and evacuation needs if there are people who evacuate," said Ashadi.Regarding the flooding that occurred in the interior of Simpang Jernih, Ashadi said that currently the inundation had receded."The latest report we received, the flood gradually receded. However, information from social welfare workers we received via telephone calls from the river water discharge at Simpang Jernih increased," said Ashadi."We urge the people of Simpang Jernih to remain calm and not panic. Immediately report and evacuate to higher ground in the event of another flood. The team has also been deployed to the location to help with handling in the event of further flooding," he added.
