Vice President Summarecon Agung Sentenced to 3 Years in Prison Regarding Bribery for Apartment Development Permits in Yogyakarta

JAKARTA - The Vice President of Summarecon Agung, Oon Nusihono, was sentenced to three years in prison. He was proven to have bribed the inactive former mayor of Yogyakarta, Haryadi Suyuti.

"The prison sentence is three years", said the Head of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) News Section, Ali Fikri, citing the verdict of the trial by the panel of judges at the Corruption Court at the Yogyakarta District Court, Monday, October 31.

Not only corporal punishment but Oon was also sentenced to an additional penalty of Rp. 200 million, subsidiary to four months in prison. He was found guilty of violating Article 5 paragraph (1) letter an of the Jo Corruption Act, Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code jo. Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

Regarding this decision, Ali said that the KPK Public Prosecutor was still thinking about further steps. So is Oon.

In the construction of the case, the KPK explained that in 2019 suspect Oon, through Dandan Jaya Kartika as President Director of PT Java Orient Property (JOP), a subsidiary of PT SA, applied for a building permit (IMB) for the construction of the Royal Kedhaton apartment in the Malioboro area.

However, the construction of the apartment is included in the cultural heritage area of ​​the Yogyakarta City Government.

The permit application will continue in 2021, where Oon and Dandan Jaya are alleged to have approached and communicated intensely and agreed with Haryadi, who served as Mayor of Yogyakarta for the 2017-2022 period.

The KPK suspects that there is an agreement between Oon and Haryadi, among which Haryadi is committed to always guarding the IMB application by ordering the Head of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Office to immediately issue an IMB which is accompanied by the provision of a sum of money during the permit process.

During the issuance of the IMB, the KPK suspected that there would be a gradual handover of money with a minimum value of around IDR 50 million from ON for Haryadi through suspect Triyanto and for suspect Nurwidhihartana. In 2022, the IMB for the construction of the Royal Kedhaton apartment proposed by PT JOP was finally issued.

Next, Oon came to Yogyakarta to meet Haryadi at the official house of the mayor's office and handed over about US$27,258 packaged in a goodie bag through Triyanto, as Haryadi's confidant. Some of the money was also given to Nurwidhihartana.
