OJK Chairman Mahendra Siregar Wants All Financial Services Industry To Have An Office In IKN
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Mahendra Siregar hopes that all financial services industries can have offices in the archipelago (IKN) since the first day the city in East Kalimantan was finished and designated as the State Capital (IKN)."Because the synergy, strong collaboration, good support have been shown earlier, I hope that other than all financial services industries will also have offices in IKN since the first day that Nusantara has become the State Capital," Mahendra said at the closing of the 2022 Financial Inclusion Month (BIK) in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Saturday, October 29.According to Mahendra, the OJK will also have an office in the archipelago since the first day the city, which is targeted to become a future city, was designated as an IKN, replacing Jakarta." “ So while (still) 2024, it is planned and designed for the process to do so," he said.Mahendra also asked the leadership of the financial services industry to take the time to visit IKN Nusantara in East Kalimantan (Kaltim).According to him, the economic potential is very large in East Kalimantan. The economic potential in East Kalimantan is also believed to accelerate the pace of national economic growth.The “Kalimantan part of Indonesia is four times as wide as Java Island. East Kalimantan itself is as wide as Java Island. So imagine Indonesia as big as this with the mainstay of one Java Island, its growth is like it is now. Imagine, if we develop that extraordinary amount again, but it will never be achieved if we don't synergize, coordinate, and collaborate, ” said Mahendra.The Nusantara IKN covers an area of land covering an area of about 256,142 hectares and an area of sea waters covering an area of 68,189 hectares located in North Penajam Paser and Kutai Kartanegara Regencies in East Kalimantan.In the IKN Master Plan, it is stated that IKN development will occur in 5 stages, namely phase I in 2022-2024 for urban development, basic infrastructure development, and economic development as well as the relocation of the TNI, Polri and BIN. Phase II in 2024-2029 with the target of primary and secondary public transportation facilities ready to be used.Phase III in 2030-2034 with a target of completing mass public transport systems, wastewater treatment installations, drinking water treatment plants, city support facilities, waste processing, additional digital and urban amenities.Phase IV in 2035-2039 begins with the development of education and health as well as the completion of regional railway construction and multipurpose dams.Phase V in 2040-2045 is marked by sustainable industrial development and stable population growth.Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) targets that the peak of the commemoration of the 79th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence on August 17, 2024, will be held at IKN Nusantara.
