10 South Lampung Residents Affected by Floods Successfully Evacuated But Still Some Are Missing

JAKARTA - The joint SAR team has evacuated residents affected by flooding in South Lampung Regency.

"There have been floods that have hit several villages in South Lampung such as Suak Village, Sidomulyo District, and Purwodadi Village. Basarnas has received this information from BPBD at 07.45 WIB", said the Head of the Lampung SAR Office, Deden Ridwansah, in a written statement in Bandarlampung, Thursday. October 27, reported by Antara.

He said that in following up on the incident, personnel was immediately dispatched from the Bakauheni SAR Post.

"After personnel from the Bakauheni SAR Post descended on the location, at 09.45 WIB the team immediately evacuated residents to be moved to safe places", he said.

He said, in the evacuation effort, Basarnas Lampung continues to coordinate with various related agencies to evacuate affected residents.

"And at 11.15 WIB the joint SAR team had succeeded in evacuating 10 residents, with the flood waters having begun to recede", he said.

He continued, in the flood disaster in South Lampung, it was known that two residents were swept away by the current.

"There were two residents of Tasik I Hamlet, Banyumas Village, Candipuro District, male, aged 57 and 49 years, who were swept away by the flood", he added.

According to him, with the presence of two residents who were lost by the flood currents, his side together with the joint SAR team is currently making efforts to search for victims.

"Currently the two residents are still in the search effort, and the joint SAR team is still ready at the location to monitor", he said again.
