COVID-19 Update as of October 24: New Cases 1,703, Active Cases 18,685

JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 55,163 specimens were examined with the result that there were 1,703 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,472,664 people and active cases have fallen by 700 to 18,685 cases", said data from the COVID-19 Task Force, Monday, October 24.

Today's recovered cases increased by 2,378 people, bringing the total to 6,291,525 people recovered. Then, the number of positive confirmed cases who died increased by 25 cases and the total was 158,454 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 625 cases and a total of 1,440,817 cases. Followed by West Java with 257 new cases with a total of 1,186,428 cases. East Java with 161 new cases and a total of 610,317 cases. Central Java with 132 new cases and a total of 640,861 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 600 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 518 recovered cases, Banten with an additional 371 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 236 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 110,065,881.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 7.41 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 2,963 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 205,096,888 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 171,798,625 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 64,806,320 people and the fourth dose was 660,091 people. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
