Former Bayern Munich And France's Franck Ribery's Star Joint Boots

JAKARTA - Former Bayern Munich star and France national team Franck Ribery announced the decision to hang up his boots. He retired at the age of 39.

Before deciding to retire, Ribery defended Salernitana for a short time. This season, Ribery made just two appearances in Serie A and Coppa Italia last August before being forced to pull out due to injury.

Quoted from Football Italia, Ribery's career in recent years has not gone smoothly due to his physical problems. That situation made him miss a number of matches for Fiorentina and Salernitana since his departure from Bayern in 2019.

The ball may stop, but feel no. Thank you to everyone for this great adventure," Ribery wrote on Twitter announcing his retirement decision.

A year after becoming part of the French team that became runners-up under Italy at the 2006 World Cup, Ribery was brought by Bayern from Marseille. To make up for it, Munich had to spend 17 million (IDR 298.5 billion).

Ribery recorded 16 goals and 25 assists in 81 caps for his country before announcing his retirement from international duty in 2014 after missing the World Cup with a back injury.
