Senior Journalist Mudya Mustam 'Shoot' Indonesian Music Faces In The Book "25 Years Of AMI Awards"

JAKARTA - This year, the AMI Awards are entering their 25th anniversary. Coinciding with the highlight night of the highest music award event in the country, on Thursday night, a book containing a portrait of the AmI Awards journey was released.

"25 Years AmI Awards - Taking Indonesian Music Faces", the title of the book, was written by a senior journalist, Mudya Mustam. Based on the information received by the editor, the cultivation process was only about one and a half months.

Starting from the interview process for the main resource persons - some of whom are Titiek Puspa, Tantowi Yahya, Ike Nurjanah, Armand Maulana and Syaharani, conducting data research on nominations and award recipients from year to year, writing the script and processing the layout were all carried out in a sat set like 'Sangkuriang Project'.

About two weeks remaining, vacated specifically for the printing process. The authors targeted that as the PMI Awards peak night was held on October 13, 2022, the book had already graced the star-studded annual celebration.

"It is an honor to be entrusted with compiling and writing this book. After being involved as a member of the categorization team since 2006, this time he was assigned to be part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of AMI Awards' exciting journey," said Mudya Mustam, in his upload on social media.

"One thing is certain, this book is certainly still far from perfect. But the 25-year momentum is a good start to start collecting and rearranging important historical debris of the AMI Awards. A kind of exciting travel kaleidoscope from a event to award the most prestigious music awards in the country," he continued.

Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of the Anugerah Musik Indonesia Foundation (AMI Awards), Candra Darusman, revealed that in the same statement, the presence of this book was intended to be grateful for the hard work and achievements of the AMI Awards in fighting for their existence for 25 years.

"As well as documenting the achievements of music personnel, as historical archival assets. Hopefully this book can also provide benefits, enlightenment and understanding for various groups, especially in the scope of the Indonesian music industry regarding the vision and mission of the AMI Awards," explained Candra Darusman.

Similarly, Mudya emphasized, the wider community - and especially practitioners and music actors - have the right to know and understand the real struggle of the founders and administrators in maintaining the existence of the AMI Awards. Behind the sparkling night stage at the peak of this grand event, and among the swift criticism and ridicule that often accompanies.

"Hopefully what I put here represents a very historic highlight of the AmI Awards journey," hoped the online media caregiver specifically for mutual and metal music called Musitas.
