The Daddies Mit Fajar/Rian At The Denmark Open 2022, Hendra Setiawan: Give The Best Game Only To Meet Anyone
JAKARTA - Men's doubles Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan admitted that they were not worried if in their competition at the Denmark Open 2022 they had to meet with compatriots Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto in the quarter-finals.
"The opportunity to meet Fajar/Rian in the top eight must remain vigilant. Here there are five pairs and all have been flattened, so the point is to give the best game to meet anyone," Hendra said as quoted by Antara, Thursday.
The pair nicknamed The Daddies and Fajar/Rian occupy the pool in the middle of the BWF Super 750 level tournament so that both have the opportunity to compete for semifinal tickets.
For Hendra, whoever the opponent is, he must be taken seriously because he does not deny that he still wants to win the title from various tournaments.
Even so, the competition with juniors only occurs on the field, but the atmosphere melts again when it returns to the national training or off the field.
"If you are on the field or training, you must be serious, but outside of that, you will definitely relax. Usually, you will relax when you meet each other in a tournament, depending on who wins or loses," said the badminton player from Pemalang, Central Java.
Based on the records of the BWF meeting, Hendra/Ahsan won 3-2 over Fajar/Rian including when they won in the 2022 World Championships in August.
However, in the Malaysia Masters in July, The Daddies were beaten by Fajar/Rian through a rubber game.
In the first round of the Denmark Open next week, The Daddies, who are the third seeded, will meet Taiwanese pair Lee Jhe-Huei/Yang PoOUTan.
"I've never met against Taiwan (it), I want to see how they play first. Yes, more or less there is already an idea, I already know the strategy. But maybe later on the field it can be different," said Hendra.
Overall, Hendra ensured that he and Ahsan were ready to compete in Odense with physical preparation and techniques that had been running for more than a month at the Cipayung National Training Center.
"In general, everything is ready, today is the last exercise and tomorrow just leaves. From Monday, engineering training has been done, injuries are also safe," concluded Hendra.
