COVID-19 Update as of October 12: 2,028 New Cases, Accumulated 6,450,248 Cases
JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 61,320 specimens were examined with the result that there were 2,028 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,450,248 and active cases have risen to 17,123", said the data from the COVID-19 Task Force, Wednesday, October 12.
Today's recovered cases increased by 1,283 people, bringing the total to 6,274,876 recovered. Then, the number of positive confirmed cases who died increased by 14 cases and the total was 158,229 people.
The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 752 cases and a total of 1,432,872 cases. Followed by West Java with 312 new cases with a total of 1,183,091 cases. East Java has 233 new cases and a total of 607,496 cases. Banten 201 new cases and a total of 338,935 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 422 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 264 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 207 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 81 recovered cases.
In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 109,402,949.
"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 6.14 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 4,433 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
To date, 204,722,385 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 171,345,141 people have received the second dose of vaccination.
While the third dose of vaccination was 64,111,815 people and the fourth dose was 641,003 people. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
