Want Self-healing? Make Sure to Balance It With Self-reflection
JAKARTA - Self-healing, self-healing by doing what you like is a natural thing. However, in the process, it must be balanced with self-reflection, whether self-healing is beneficial for oneself.
"Maybe we are stuck with this term, however, we need to know our basic needs by asking ourselves, is self-healing a form of us to escape and distract us from problems, or can it really be a support system for overcoming our burnt-out," said Zahrah Nabila Putri, a clinical psychologist who graduated from Gadjah Mada University, as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 10.
"When we understand that self-healing can be used as support from ourselves to deal with burnt-out, the hope is of course that this activity can be a support. Talking about boundaries, it is a question for ourselves, do we accept or reject (the idea) to face our stress," she added.
Furthermore, self-healing usually accompanies burnt-out -- feeling tired and overwhelmed by the sheer amount of work or other demands. According to Zahrah, the burnt-out that comes along with the hustle culture trend among young people is due to the rapid and large amount of information exposure, coupled with the competitive nature of human beings.
However, he continued, everyone has a different foundation: some are already strong enough, and some are still trying to build their footing. With rapid exposure to information, of course, there will be many tempting "attacks" in the process.

"Here, information breaks are needed. For those who feel their foundations are not strong enough and are forced to work hard, it can affect their mental condition. Everyone's support is different, and that is their respective journey," said Zahrah.
So, it is important for each individual to be willing to admit when they are not strong and able to handle these things. There are several signs that can be noticed, some of which are loss of joy at work, feeling work is a tremendous burden, to feeling like working like a robot.
"We need to admit that we feel burnt-out. What we need to do is look at our three sides, namely from the emotional, physical, and mental side. Which burnt-out is the most attacking of the three things. From there, we can try to release it in various ways. appropriate things such as exercise, meditation, journalling, and others," said Zahrah.
