Kemenkop UKM: The G20 Presidency Is An Event For Promoting Indonesian SMEs At The World Level
JAKARTA - Indonesia is taking advantage of the G20 Indonesia Presidency and the G20 Summit which will be held in Bali in November 2022 to showcase the best works of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
It was recorded that from 1,024 curated, 20 MSMEs were declared ready as suppliers.
Expert Staff of the Minister for Productivity and Competitiveness of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, Eddy Satriya said, the government through the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs bridged MSME players to be able to show off at the G20 Presidency event.
"One of them is to finalize the capacity of actors and the quality of products that will be used as official merchandise for the G20 Indonesia," he said at the #G20Update press conference themed "Readiness of the Telecommunication Network Infrastructure for the G20 Summit" which was held by the G20 Communications and Media Team virtually in Jakarta, Thursday, October 6.
Kemenkop UKM conducts curation by cooperating with SMESCO and an independent curator.
The curators involved were ESMOD Jakarta, Patrive Desilles; Professional graphic design, Uci Sumarno; Indonesian Crafts Council, Yukako Akashi; and PPA Cosmetics Indonesia, Solihin Sofian.
"From 1,024 curated, 20 MSMEs have been declared ready as suppliers. Those selected are MSMEs engaged in the craft, fashion, food, cosmetic, herbal and wellness sectors spread throughout Indonesia," he said.
Among them are Pandora Mutiara from West Nusa Tenggara, Kallestory Eyewear (DI Yogyakarta), Borobudur Silver (DIY), Maharani Craft (Bali), Batika (NTB), Hape (Bali).
Then Dehealth Supplies (East Java), Natural Creative Fragrande (West Java), Adem Juice & Smoothies (Bali), Tri Utami Jaya (NTB), Yagi Natural Indonesia (Aceh), Cocomama Komodo (NTT) Samsara (Bali), Rumah Atsiri (Central Java).
Then, Faber Instrument Indonesia (West Java), Pala Nusantara (West Java), Wonnow Handcrafted (East Java), Suryoart (Central Java), Hucravindo (East Java), Furniwell Calistaprima (Central Java), Five Prosperous Towers (Bali), Levi's Organics (Banten), and Imagenation (West Java).
"This is an illustration of how the Kemenkop UKM is very serious. We maximize the G20 Presidency so that as many SMEs as possible can participate," said Eddy.
To continue to strengthen MSMEs, said Eddy, the Kemenkop SME has four levels of digital transformation, namely the first from informal to formal transformation; utilization of innovation and digitization; supply chain transformation and entrepreneurship; and the transformation of modern cooperatives.
"This supply chain has a big relationship with the G20. We hope that all levels, including local government support, will continue to encourage superior MSME products to increase their capacity. Because locality is our strength to go global," he said.
Therefore, said Eddy, the government continues to strive to build partnerships in the supply chain.
This includes assistance as a provider in the procurement of government goods and services, namely 40 percent of APBN and APBD expenditures are directed to MSME products.

For your information, the World Bank noted that 80 percent of Indonesian MSMEs that enter the digital ecosystem have better resilience during the pandemic.
The government also targets that by 2024 as many as 30 million MSMEs are onboarding the digital ecosystem.
"Currently there are 19.5 million. Not all MSMEs have risen. But not a few have succeeded in taking advantage of digitalization during a pandemic. The target of 30 million is not only on a national scale, but also internationally," said Eddy.
The Indonesian G20 Presidency, which will take place from December 2021 to November 2022, has held more than 160 official activities and has the potential to create 33,000 jobs with a consumption value of IDR 1.7 trillion.
"This is certainly something extraordinary. There are 20,000 delegates entering Indonesia," he said.
