Inaugurating The Revitalization Of 4 Markets In Jakarta, Anies: This Is Where Indonesia's Atmosphere Is Maintained
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan inaugurated the revitalization of four markets, including the Cipinang Kebembem Market, the West Sawah Market, the Tanah Tinggi Poncol Market, and the West Tebet Market.
Anies views that the rejuvenation of traditional markets in Jakarta needs to continue to make traders feel comfortable making transactions.
"With this renewal, later on going on will be completed so that our markets become better, neater, cleaner markets. If that happens, God willing, those who come to this place will be more comfortable, find parking easier, walk around looking for the choice is also easier. Those who work here feel more comfortable," said Anies at the Cipinang Kebembeb Market, East Jakarta, Thursday, September 22.
The traditional market, for Anies, is also a place for bargaining transactions. Activities that characterize Indonesian society cannot be carried out in modern markets.
"The market is a meeting place for sellers and traders, interacting between people. The market should not be lost, this is where the Indonesian atmosphere is maintained. Only in traditional markets there is the art of bargaining. Once you get to another place, the art is gone," said Anies.

Furthermore, Anies also wants to make the market, not only a node for economic interaction, but also social interaction and here there is a feeling of togetherness.
Therefore, according to him, the market must be developed in accordance with the times, namely by rejuvenating the market building itself.
"We want everything in our food ecosystem to be our food ecosystem, from the supplier at the end to the very end for distribution, in one healthy ecosystem," he said.
