Residents Affected by Land Movements in Bogor Regency Increase to 1,020 People
JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bogor Regency noted the addition of residents affected by the movement of land that occurred in Bogor.
Plt. Head of BNPB's Disaster Data and Communication Center, Abdul Muhari, said that on Monday, September 19, it was recorded that the land movement phenomenon had an impact on 170 families or 647 people. Today, the affected population has increased to 1,020 people.
"Residents affected by the movement of land that occurred in the Bogor Regency, West Java Province, increased to 278 families or 1,020 people", said Abdul Muhari in his statement, Tuesday, September 20.
Then, as many as 246 housing units were affected, at least 9 housing units were heavily damaged and 73 housing units were moderately damaged. An educational facility and a prayer room were also affected. The Kampung Curug road section was also damaged so that it could not be passed by all types of vehicles.
Until now, 11 families or 41 people still survive in the refugee camps considering the current situation is still not conducive and land movements are still happening in the area.
"BPBD officers who are assisted by related agencies provide basic services to those who have fled", said Abdul Muhari.
Meanwhile, the electricity has been turned off to avoid short circuits or other unwanted things. Emergency roads are also being built by residents.
Furthermore, according to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency's forecast, moderate to high-intensity rain still has the potential to occur in Bogor Regency until Wednesday, September 21.
Meanwhile, based on ground motion analysis from the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation, the Geological Agency, Babakan Madang District, Bogor Regency, West Java, including areas with medium to high ground movement potential.
Therefore, Abdul Muhari appealed to local governments and residents to remain vigilant to potential aftershocks.
