With Free Recruitment, Jorginho's Situation At Chelsea Continues To Be Monitored By Barcelona

JAKARTA - Barcelona does not seem to be stopping hijacking players from Chelsea. After Andreas Christensen and Marcos Alonso, Barcelona are now aiming for Jorginho.

Barcelona have reportedly overseen the situation of Jorginho's contract at Chelsea. The management of the Spanish La Liga club could move closer to him in the new year.

The Italian midfielder's contract came in the last year. Barcelona are interested in bringing him to the club on a free transfer.

Barca see it as a possible replacement for Sergio Busquets who has begun to age.

The 34-year-old will also expire his contract at the end of the season. The Spanish giant seemed aware that Busquets needed to be replaced immediately.

If Jorginho does not immediately agree to an extension, he will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs in January. This is what Barcelona is trying to use.

It remains unclear if the 30-year-old was part of Graham Potter's plans at Chelsea.

But he played full 90 minutes in Potter's first game against Salzburg in the Champions League.

Barcelona's chances to get it are quite open. Moreover, Christensen and Marcos Alonso can be used to persuade the player to join the club next summer.

Xavi continues to work to overhaul their squad despite financial problems. The need for new midfielders will also be even more pressing if Manchester United and Chelsea restart their project closer to Frenkie de Jong.

Meanwhile Jorginho has been a Chelsea player since 2018 when he was recruited from Napoli. He has played 196 times for the West London-based club and has scored 27 goals.

At this club, he has won the Champions League, Europa League, Super Cup and Club World Cup.
