Indonesia Tatang Tuan Home In The First Round Of Group II Davis Cup 2022 In Poland
JAKARTA - The Indonesian men's tennis team will face Poland in the first round of the 2022 Davis Cup World Group II match at Hala Widowiskowo Sportowa, Inowroclaw, Poland, September 16-17.
The Red and White Squad consists of Christopher Rungkat, Muhammad Rifqi Fitriadi, Tegar Abdi Satria Wibowo, Lucky Candra Kurniawan, Nathan Anthony Barki, and Sutikno Muliadi as captain.
General Secretary of the Central Executive of the Indonesian Tennis Association (PP Pelti) Lani Sardadi who accompanied the Indonesian team, said all the players had tested the Hala Widowiskowo Sportowa arena.
"Everyone is healthy and enthusiastic even though they have to take 25 hours of flight from the country," said Lani, quoted by Antara, Wednesday.
"Nathan Barki who came from New York (United States) has also joined. So the team was complete while trying out the field with captain Sutikno Muliadi," Lani added.
Playing on closed pitch with a hard mapboat finish of 3, will be a new experience for most of the Red and White team squad.
In this match, Tegar Abdi, Lucky Candra, and Nathan were present as debutants. They will fight with Rifqi Fitriadi and Christo who have performed several times.
The match against Poland is important because the winner will advance to the first round of the Group I playoffs. While the defeated must work hard to secure a position in the Group III playoffs with the promotion team for the Group III zone.
Poland is the first European opponent of the Red and White team since Group II formed without a zone barrier. Since then, Indonesia has always played a life and death party to survive in Group II.
On the other hand, Poland is a strong team and is the ninth seed in Group II.
Poland will be strengthened by Majchrzak, Kacper Zuk, Olaf Pieczatowski, Jan Zielinski, Lukasz Kubot, and the captain Mariusz Fyrstenberg.
