Mardani Maming Is Thought To Have Received Bribes Through A Number Of Mining Companies
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that former Tanah Bumbu Regent Mardani H. Maming is checking money through a number of mining companies he controls. This allegation was investigated by examining the Director of PT Prolindo Cipra Nusantara, Christian.
Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said Christian was examined as a witness on Tuesday, September 13. The examination relates to the alleged bribery of the mining business license (IUP) that ensnared Mardani.
"This witness was present and his knowledge was confirmed, among others, related to the alleged receipt of a sum of money by the suspect MM through several mining companies in Tanah Bumbu which are still under the control of the suspect," Ali told reporters, Wednesday, September 14.
Ali did not specify what companies were controlled by Mardani. However, he believes the information given by Christian will shed light on the investigation into the alleged bribery that is being carried out.
As previously reported, the KPK has detained Mardani H. Maming as a suspect in alleged bribery and gratification of mining business permits in Tanah Bumbu Regency. He was named a suspect in the recipient.
Meanwhile, as the giver, Hendry Soetio, who is the controller of PT Prolindo Cipta Nusantara (PCN), was declared dead.
Even though he died, the KPK ensured that investigators had received evidence related to Mardani's acceptance. The former General Treasurer of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) is suspected of receiving money from Hendry from 2014 to 2020 reaching Rp. 104.3 billion which was received through trusted people and their companies.
