Ahead Of Golovkin's Opponents, Canelo Still Feel The Effect Of The Defeat Of Bivol?
JAKARTA - Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez can still feel some serious effects from his defeat against Dmitry Bivol.
Canelo will face Gennady Golovkin on Saturday and many have highlighted whether Mexican boxers can afford to lose to WBA light heavyweight champion Bivol some time ago.
Canelo and many of his own followers have tried to take his defeat from Bivol lightly. But, in fact, it is difficult to ignore the defeat as a coincidence.
"Canelo received a lot of punishment against Bivol, and you should think that the defeat could still haunt the Mexican star in his trilogy match against Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs)," Boxingnews24 said.
Because Canelo's potential is still in shock and may be confused by what happened against Bivol, it would be a shame if he didn't give Golovkin a serious chance to beat the Mexican.
Many feel that Canelo's career is basically at stake in this fight against Golovkin. The reason is, if he loses again in the fight he should have won, it would be a very long way to go back to the top.
"He's as motivated as he's going to get. It's a fight where he calms all the criticism, answers all the questions, and finally gets that definitive win," Chris Mannix told DAZN Boxing.
"That's his mindset that came into this fight. To win this fight, and win it definitively, so people know who is better than the two boxers."
"One additional factor may play a role and it's unknown what we won't know until maybe a few rounds in the fight, and that's a burden on both sides," said Mike pre-emptively.
