Burnt Body Suspected Missing Semarang Civil Servant, Police: Wait For DNA Test
SEMARANG - The body, which was 100 percent charred in the Marina area, Semarang City, is suspected to be a member of a Semarang City Civil Servant (PNS) named Iwan Budi Paulus who was reported missing.
Semarang Police Chief Kombes Pol. Irwan Anwar said that regarding the alleged identity, his party could not confirm it.
However, Irwan admitted that the body was found not far from the motorbike which was also sold out on fire. The motorbike is known to be an official vehicle belonging to the Semarang City Government Civil Servant which was reported missing 2 weeks ago.
"On the burning motorbike, the police number for the H-9798-RA official vehicle was still found," he said during the crime scene investigation, Friday, September 9.
According to him, the motorbike was known as an official vehicle used by Iwan Budi Paulus, a civil servant of the Semarang City Government, which has been reported missing since August 24, 2022.
In addition to motorbikes, at the scene of the incident, a portable computer and cell phone allegedly belonged to Iwan Budi Paulus were also found.
According to him, officers also found a nameplate in the name of Iwan Budi Paulus at the location.
The body that caught fire along with the motorcycle, he said, must still be confirmed whether Iwan Budi Paulus or not.
"We have to wait for the results of the forensic laboratory and DNA test to confirm whether the body is Iwan Budi or not," he said.
Previously, a body found on fire along with a motorbike in the Marina Beach area, Semarang City, Central Java.
The discovery stems from the finding of a motorcycle that caught fire by one of the land guards belonging to PT Family.
Near the burning motorbike, it was found that a body was also charred.
Meanwhile, Iwan Budi Paulus, who is suspected of being the body on fire, is a civil servant at the Semarang City Government.
Iwan disappeared the day before being examined as a witness at the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Police regarding allegations of corruption in the transfer of assets.
