Officers Extinguish Fire At H. Dimurthala Stadium In Banda Aceh Burned By Masses Ahead Of Persiraja VS PSMS Medan
BANDA ACEH - Banda Aceh Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire after the crowd set the H. Dimurthala Stadium on fire because they were disappointed with the cancellation of the Persiraja Banda Aceh versus PSMS Medan match due to the stadium lights turning off before the match.
Banda Aceh firefighter Yudi in Banda Aceh, Monday (5/9) night, said his party had deployed 3 units of firefighters to extinguish the fire inside the stadium.
"We have deployed 1 unit of firefighters in front and 2 units inside the stadium," said Yudi, as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 5.
The process was also assisted by TNI/Polri personnel who secured the match. However, 1 firefighter unit at the scene was damaged by a hard object throwing it, causing the windshield to shatter.
"I don't know who did it. This case is being investigated by the police," he said.
Previously, spectators of the Persiraja Banda Aceh versus PSMS Medan match burned a number of facilities at the H. Dimurthala Stadium in Lampineung, Aceh, because they were disappointed that the match was canceled due to the stadium lights turning off before the match, Monday night.
According to ANTARA's observations, the crowd first burned the sponsor's board, then the goal nets, benches, and even the carpet of the VIP stands.
The stadium is now safe from the fire. After a while, the Inafis team and Brimob personnel were seen coming and examining the stadium.

Previously, Persiraja Banda Aceh hosted PSMS Medan on Monday (5/9). The League 2 match which will be held at this stadium is scheduled for 20.30 WIB.
However, the stadium lights went out about 5 minutes before the match, making the match officially postponed.
Regarding this incident, Persiraja's management has not provided any information regarding the stadium lights being off. Rumors circulated that the stadium lights were off due to a faulty engine.
