JAKARTA - A 1.5 meter long Java cobra was found in a foam mattress belonging to one of the residents of Jalan Raya Bogor Kilometer 28, Number 39 RT 08/07, Pekayon Village, Pasar Rebo District, East Jakarta.

Head of Operations for the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, said that his party received news of the discovery of snakes at the location.

Gatot said, based on information from the occupants of the house, the snake was known to be on the bed when the occupant heard the sound of resistance.

"At around 1 pm when the occupants of the house were lying down, then he heard the sound of resistance from the cupboard. After checking, it turned out that a cobra was hiding inside the foam mattress," said Gatot in his statement, Thursday, August 31.

To evacuate the snake, his party deployed 1 unit of light rescue vehicle accompanied by four personnel.

When evacuating snakes from the foam mattress, officers used various equipment, one of which was a clip. As a result, the snake was caught and then put in a large jar.

Gatot explained that the snake was a Javan cobra type with a length of approximately 1.5 meters and a diameter ranging from 3 to 4 centimeters.
