The Indonesian National Team Will Against The FIFA 84 Ranking Team, The PSSI Chairman Hopes For Jordi Amat And Sandy Walsh Has Become Indonesian Citizens

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) General Chair Mochamad Iriawan expressed his hope that the naturalization process for Jordi Amat and Sandy Walsh could be completed soon. He hopes that the two players will be able to defend the Indonesian national team in the FIFA match against Curacao.

The match against the 84 FIFA level team will be held twice, namely on September 24 and 27. The presence of Sandy Walsh and Jordi Amat is believed to increase the strength of the Garuda Squad.

"PSSI wants before FIFA Matchday, the two players can become Indonesian citizens (WNI)," said Iriawan in a working meeting with Commission III of the DPR, Monday, August 28, as quoted from the PSSI's official website.

"We believe the presence of the two players will significantly improve the quality of the national team as expected by all Indonesian football lovers. Moreover, Indonesia will face the 2023 Asian Cup," he added.

The chairman of PSSI also thanked all parties who have assisted in the naturalization process of the two players, including President Joko Widodo, Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali.

As previously reported, Commission III of the Houe of Representatives (DPR) has approved the naturalization process of Jordi Amat and Sandy Walsh. After that, the process will be continued to the Ministry of State Secretariat and then President Joko Widodo, who will issue a Presidential Decree regarding this matter.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian national team's match against Curacao will be held in Bandung and Jakarta. On September 24, 2022, the match will be held at the Bandung Bandung Stadium (GBLA).

Then on September 27, the Indonesian national team will compete again with Curacao at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).
