6 Members Of The TNI As Suspects Of Civilization In Mimika, Detained In Military Police Detachment
JAKARTA - The Commander of the Army Military Police Center (Danpuspomad) Lt. Gen. Chandra W. Sukotjo confirmed that six members of the Indonesian Army have been named suspects in the mutilation of two civilians in Pigapu Village, East Mimika District, Mimika Regency, Papua.
"That's right, we have (become a suspect)", said Chandra as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 29.
According to him, the Military Police of Kodam (Pomdam) XVII/Cenderawasih have already carried out the legal process against the six TNI AD soldiers.
"Puspomad has sent a team of investigators to assist the Pomdam", he added.
Meanwhile, the perpetrators from civilians have been handled by the police. Regarding the motive of the perpetrator himself, Chandra said that it was still under investigation by the Cenderawasih Pomdam.
TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa and TNI AD Chief of Staff (KSAD) General TNI Dudung Abdurachman have ordered Puspomad to thoroughly investigate the case allegedly involving six TNI AD soldiers.

The mutilated victim's body was found in Pigapu-Logopon Village, Mimika Regency, Papua, Saturday, August 27.
"The TNI commander and KSAD ordered Danpuspomad to thoroughly investigate this case", said Chandra.
Meanwhile, Head of the Army Information Service (Kadispenad) Brigadier General Tatang Subarna said Subdenpom XVII/Cenderawasih in Mimika has now secured the six TNI AD soldiers.
Subdenpom XVII/Cenderawasih continues to coordinate with the Mimika Police to uncover the involvement of the TNI AD person.
