Following In The Footsteps Of PSG Before Signing Messi, Marseille Learns The Financial Impact Of Signing Ronaldo
JAKARTA - Former Marseille midfielder Jean-Charles De Bono has revealed his former team is conducting a study to determine the feasibility of a potential transfer for Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo reportedly still wants to leave Manchester United and look for a new club that this season is playing in the European Champions League. Marseille has become the latest club to be linked with CR7.
"A study is being carried out to find out what Ronaldo can bring to the club financially. Paris Saint-Germain is also doing this to (Lionel) Messi," he said as reported by Talk Sport.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, is constantly looking for ways to facilitate his client's wishes. For this reason, the potential for CR7 to leave before the final minute of the transfer market closing is still open.
Marseille is also the only club left that can bring Ronaldo to play in the Champions League this season.
However, Marseille want to know for sure what benefits they can get by getting the 37-year-old's signature.
"Olympique decided to study Ronaldo's impact on sponsors around the world to bring them to Marseille," said De Bono.
Marseille finished second in Ligue 1 last season 15 points behind PSG. They have also started the 2022/2023 season well, winning two of their three games so far and drawing one draw.
