Rapist Of Indonesian Citizen In Malaysia Threatened With 20 Years In Imprisonment And Sentenced To Whips

JAKARTA - Malaysian police have arrested two suspects in the robbery and rape of Indonesian citizens (WNI). The police investigated this case based on Article 395 of the Criminal Code and 117 of the Criminal Code of local state regulations with a maximum threat of 20 years in prison and caning.

Ampang Jaya Regional Police Chief Mohamad Farouk Bin Eshak said in a written statement quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 24, that the investigation was carried out under Article 395 of the Criminal Code which refers to gang robbery offenses, and Article 117 of the Criminal Code which refers to the offense of impersonating a civil servant.

Article 395 of the Criminal Code provides a maximum prison sentence of 20 years and also caning if proven to have committed a violation. Meanwhile, Article 117 of the Criminal Code provides maximum imprisonment of two years or a fine or both if proven to have committed a violation.

On Saturday (20/8), at around 06.50 local time, a female Indonesian citizen (the reporter) and her friend who is also an Indonesian citizen on their way to work were intercepted by two men claiming to be immigration officers. The suspects who were driving the Honda City car then said they wanted to check the passports and work permits of the two Indonesian citizens and asked them to get into the car.

The complainant and his friend were then taken to the Serdang area where the suspect took their jewelry and money.

By the two suspects, the reporter was dropped off on the side of the road in the Serdang area, while the friend of the reporter was taken to a hotel in the Balakong area and raped in that hotel. The reporter's friend also made a police report and the case is being investigated by the IPD Kajang police.

A team of police from the Criminal Investigation Division (BSJD) of Ampang Jaya District has arrested two men in Melaka who are suspected of robbing and raping women Indonesian citizens (WNI).

Ampang Jaya Regional Police Chief Mohamad Farouk Bin Eshak in a written statement received in Kuala Lumpur, Wednesday, said that based on intelligence information, on Monday (22/8) at around 03.00 local time, the BSJD team raided a multi-story house in Taman Seri Asahan, Jasin, Melaka.

Officers arrested two men suspected of being involved in the robbery and rape of a female Indonesian citizen.

He said based on the results of the examination, it was known that the 40-year-old suspect previously had 18 criminal and drug records, including three fugitive records for drug cases.

The 35-year-old suspect has 13 drug-related criminal records, including one wanted for a drug case.

The police team has confiscated cash, necklaces, bracelets, vehicles, and clothes used by the suspect at the time of the incident.

The police have brought the suspect to the Ampang Court for an application for detention under Article 117 of the Criminal Code.

The Coordinator of the Social and Cultural Information Function of the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Yoshi Iskandar, said the embassy was investigating the case.
