Underage Girls Become Perpetrators Of Robbery In Malang
JAKARTA - Malang Police, East Java, arrested the perpetrators of motor vehicle theft (curanmor) involving an underage girl.
Head of Public Relations of the Malang Resort Police, Iptu Ahmad Taufik, said that three perpetrators were arrested; P (30) as the receiver, MW (22), and a 17-year-old woman with the initials SRA.
"There are three suspects in this motor vehicle theft case, one of whom is a minor," said Taufik, Friday, August 19, quoted from Antara.
He explained that the disclosure of the case began when joint officers from the Malang Police Satreskrim and the Ngajum Sector Police conducted an investigation into cases of motor vehicle theft in the area.
From the results of the investigation, the joint team found someone selling a motor vehicle using a Facebook account. Later, officers conducted an investigation and found the owner of the account with the initials P, he added.
"The results of the check revealed that the motorbike was identical to the vehicle belonging to the victim who went missing at the Ngajum TKP," he said.
Armed with this information, he said, the combined officers of the Malang Police then went undercover to buy the vehicles that were sold on the Facebook account. The officer then arrested the P collector at the time of making the sale.
"Then, we conducted an interrogation and it was found that the vehicle was obtained from MW. The motorbike was sold for Rp. 1.3 million and then MW and SRA were also arrested," he added.
According to Taufik, MW has committed four thefts of motorized vehicles in the Malang Regency area. MW is targeting vehicles that were left by their owners on the edge of a rice field while farming.
"Meanwhile, the SRA is tasked with monitoring the surrounding conditions when MW commits the theft," he said.
SRA is a resident of Kepanjen Subdistrict, Malang Regency, who has run away from home for some time. SRA then married in a series with MW who is the brains of the perpetrators of the motor vehicle theft.
The police seized a number of evidences in the form of two motorbikes and a number of mobile phones. The perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of seven years in prison and Article 480 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of four years in prison.
