COVID-19 Update As Of August 18: 4.039 New Cases, Active Cases Drop To 51.900
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 81.697 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 4.039 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6.301.523 people and active cases have fallen by 1.232 to 51.900 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Thursday, August 18.
Today's recovered cases increased by 5.250 people, bringing the total to 6.092.306 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 21 cases and totaled 157.317 people.
The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 2.060 cases and a total of 1.371.537 cases. Followed by West Java which has 676 new cases with a total of 1.154.192 cases. Banten has 472 new cases and a total of 323.283 cases. East Java has 259 new cases and a total of 592.782 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 2.418 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 982 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 441 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 324 recovered cases.
In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 105.581.584.
"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 11.02 percent," he wrote.
The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 4.680 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
