Surakarta Police Haven't Raised Cases Of Fire At The Solo RSJD That Killed 2 People For Investigation

SOLO - The Investigation Team of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Surakarta City Police has not raised the status from investigation to investigation related to the fire incident at the Regional Mental Hospital (RSJD) Dr Arif Zainudin, in Solo, which left two people dead and three injured.

"We have not been able to determine the status of the investigation and are still waiting for the results from the Forensic Laboratory team (Labfor) of the Central Java Police and the Forensic Examination Team at the Dr. Moewardi Hospital Surakarta," said Surakarta Police Chief, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, in Solo as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, August 13th.

According to the Police Chief, the Surakarta Police Satreskrim investigator team has examined and clarified seven witnesses, including the RSJD officers who were carrying out picket duties in the Puntadewa room, security officers and other officers including the Director of the RSJD.

The Central Java Police Labfor team is conducting research and assessment to uncover the cause of the fire. Then the Forensic team of Dr Moewardi Hospital Surakarta also carried out their duties to find out what caused the death of the two victims. Both victims died whether due to fire or other causes.

The Surakarta Police Satreskrim team investigated whether there was an alleged negligence that caused the fire to occur and resulted in two deaths and three other injuries.

The Surakarta Police are still waiting for the results of the research from the Central Java Police Labfor Team to determine the cause of the fire and the Forensic team of Dr. RSUD. Moewardi Surakarta, the results of the post-mortem for the two victims died, what was the cause of death?

From the two results, said the Police Chief, the police will only hold a case to determine the status of the investigation whether it can be upgraded to an investigation.

In addition, the police have secured several pieces of evidence including components in the Puntadewa isolation room at RSJD Surakarta, and several documents have also been secured, electronic documents and evidence and witnesses will be reviewed.

"After receiving the results from the Central Java Regional Police Labfor Team and the post-mortem of the Dr. Moewardi Hospital Surakarta team, we immediately filed a case whether the status of the investigation was an investigation," said the Chief of Police.

The fire in the Puntadewa Psychiatry Room at the Dr Arif Zainudin Hospital, Surakarta, occurred on Friday (5/8), at around 03.30 WIB. The incident left two patients dead and three others suffering burns.
