4 Indonesian Men's Singles Representatives Ready To Fight At The 2022 Badminton World Championship
JAKARTA - The Indonesian men's singles sector will send four representatives to the 2022 Badminton World Championships in Japan. With good preparation, Irwansyah as the coach of the men's singles sector is sure that his foster children are ready to fight in this prestigious event.
The 2022 Badminton World Championships will take place on August 22-28. And the Indonesian men's singles sector will send Anthony Ginting, Jonatan Christie, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, and one non-platinum badminton player, Tommy Sugiarto.
Having a month before departure, Irwansyah galvanizes the preparation of his foster children with the maximum portion. Therefore, he confidently said that the four representatives were ready to compete in Japan.
"From us (the men's singles) it's been good, from training, focus, physically and mentally, everyone is ready to compete. I think the condition of the children is also good, it's just a matter of leaving", said Irwansyah at an online press conference with PBSI on Thursday, August 11 at noon WIB.
Of the many menus of training and preparations carried out, Irwansyah emphasized that the most important aspect that representatives must have is a matter of mind. Because to appear in a prestigious event like the World Championship, there will be a lot of pressure that comes.
“The month-long preparations that have been carried out have included all aspects ranging from physical, stroke and the most important thing is to be prepared from the mental aspect. Because players must focus and be enthusiastic about undergoing training to later appear on the real field, "continued Irwansyah.
In addition to confidence, there are also concerns felt by the coach. Because based on the results of the drawing carried out by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), three Indonesian representatives were included in the top pool, there was the potential for clashes between compatriots.

Irwansyah then considered that placing Ginting, Jonathan, and Chico in the upper pool would practically cause losses. Because then the space for Indonesian representatives will be narrower.
But he was not discouraged and emphasized that his team must stay focused and show their best in each round that will be undertaken later.
"Yes, but the name is a lottery, you can't hope, you just have to be ready and see the results later. In my opinion, this is not good for us", he said.
"But the most important thing is to think about going through each round, if you meet (compatriots) you have to be ready because anyone will want to win", said the coach.
