GARUT - The Garut District Attorney's Team (Kejari) searched the Garut Regency DPRD Office, West Java, to look for evidence related to the alleged corruption case of the recess program and operational costs with an estimated state loss of Rp 1.2 billion.
The search operation was led directly by the Head of the Special Criminal Section of the Garut District Attorney's Office, Yosep, who examined a number of files in the Garut DPRD office, Patriot Street, Tarogong Kidul District.
From the search, the officers took two suitcases containing important files or documents into the car, which were then taken to the Garut District Attorney's office.
The Head of Special Crimes Section of the Kejari Kejari, Yosep, confirmed that his staff had searched a number of Garut DPRD rooms in the context of the investigation process of alleged criminal acts of corruption in the 2014-2019 recess budget and operational costs.
"Yes, this is related to the recess and BOP (operational costs) for 2014-2019," said Yosep as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 10.
He revealed that the process of handling cases of alleged corruption had been going on for a long time and had faced obstacles due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Furthermore, said Yosep, the Garut Kejari team again moved to follow up and be more serious to quickly resolve cases of alleged corruption in the Garut DPRD environment.
"As soon as possible because it's been a long time," said Yosep accompanied by the Head of Intelligence at the Garut Prosecutor's Office, Irwan.
Garut Kejari has examined a number of witnesses as many as 40 people from the bureaucracy and members of the legislature in the 2014-2019 period.
The results of the examination so far, he said, have not yet identified a suspect because further investigation is still being carried out.
"The suspect will be determined later," he said.
