Allegedly Leaking Gasoline Hose, Motorcart Transporting Waste From Central Jakarta Environment Agency's Assets Burned

JAKARTA - A motorized cart (Germor) transporting garbage belonging to the Pegangsaan Village on Jalan Kimia, RW 01, Menteng, was burned to the ground, Wednesday, August 10. The burning of the garbage cart is suspected to be due to the lack of maintenance of assets belonging to the Central Jakarta Environmental Agency (LH).

Head of the Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept., Asril Rizal, said that the motorcycle that caught fire had the police number B 4132 PZV.

"We deployed 3 units of fire engines to extinguish the fire. We managed to control the fire, it is suspected that the gas hose leaked," said Asril when confirmed, Wednesday, August 10.

Asril said the loss due to the burning motorbike reached Rp. 35 million. His party received information on the chronology of the burning of the motorbike because the gas tank of the pump motor was leaking.

"There were no casualties from this incident, neither our officers nor the Garmor Garbage driver," he said.

Meanwhile, the Village Head of Pegangsaan, Sendi Yusuf, said that his party claimed that the burning motorcycle was routinely carried out maintenance. Every three months the motor is always checked.

"How come routine maintenance of the germ is every three months. That's why our PPSU officers saw the fire had grown," he said.
