40,439 Livestock In Aceh Stated Recovered From FMD
BANDA ACEH - The Safe Nusa II Operational Assistance Task Force (Satgas) stated that as many as 40,439 livestock animals in Aceh Province were declared cured of foot and mouth disease (FMD).
"Based on the data we have received, so far 40,439 livestock animals in Aceh have recovered from FMD," said Head of the Nusa II Safe Operations Assistance Task Force, Police Grand Commissioner Winardy as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, August 7.
According to Winardy, the number of livestock recovering from foot and mouth diseases that continues to grow is the hard work of farmers and members of the task force who went to the field and other relevant policy makers.
The middle-ranking police officer said that the Safe Operations Assistance Task Force Nusa II was the police's support in dealing with foot and mouth diseases that are currently endemic.
The task force, said Police Grand Commissioner Winardy, who is also the Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police, continues to try to prevent transmission and spread, including handling foot and mouth diseases that infect community livestock.
"Efforts to heal are carried out by giving medicines, including spraying disinfectants on the cages and giving vaccines to healthy livestock. These efforts have given positive results," said Police Grand Commissioner Winardy.
In addition, Police Grand Commissioner Winardy said the Safe Operations Assistance Task Force Nusa II also educates and socializes the public regarding prevention and treatment procedures so that the foot and mouth disease virus does not spread further.

However, the public is still advised to remain active in taking precautions, such as cleaning the cage, disinfecting, and not letting livestock roam, said Police Grand Commissioner Winardy.
"We also remind the public or breeders whose livestock are infected with foot and mouth diseases to immediately report to the officers for immediate treatment," said Police Grand Commissioner Winardy.
