Angkasa Pura II Collaborates With Changi Airport Collaborate To Restore The Aviation Sector
JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) together with Changi Airport Group again held a meeting to discuss accelerating the recovery of the aviation sector affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The meeting was attended by AP II President Director, Muhammad Awaluddin, and Changi Airport Group CEO, Lee Seow Hiang, at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang on Wednesday, August 3.
"AP II and Changi Airport Group, as the two largest airport operators in the ASEAN region, are exploring cooperation so that we can make a significant contribution in encouraging flight recovery, both in Indonesia and Southeast Asia", Muhammad Awaluddin said in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Thursday, August 4th.
Awaluddin also said that AP II is currently pushing for recovery through collaboration with various parties at airports managed by the company, including Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
"Flight recovery at AP II airports is going well. The recovery rate at Soekarno-Hatta Airport even now has reached around 82 percent, in other words, flight traffic is around 82 percent from 2019 when there was no pandemic", he said.
He further explained that AP II and Changi Airport Group explored three aspects of collaboration. The first is the synergy of tourism development. AP II asked Changi Airport Group to provide special space at Changi Airport such as digital banners and other media to promote five super priority destinations in Indonesia, namely Borobudur Temple (Central Java), Mandalika (West Nusa Tenggara), Labuan Bajo (East Nusa Tenggara), Lake Toba (North Sumatra) and Likupang (North Sulawesi).
"We hope that the promotion of this super-priority destination can support the tourism growth sector in Indonesia. International passengers after landing at Soekarno-Hatta Airport can continue their journey to five super priority destinations", he said.
Second, the synergy in the implementation of Airport Collaborative Decision Making (ACDM) between Soekarno-Hatta Airport and Changi Airport.
AP II has implemented ACDM at Soekarno-Hatta Airport as a system that accommodates real-time information-based cooperation from all stakeholders, namely airport operators, airlines, ground handling, air traffic services, and other supporting partners.
"ACDM synergies between Soekarno-Hatta Airport and Changi Airport can make flights on the Jakarta - Singapore route more optimal and efficient, which will lead to increased services for passengers", he said.

Currently, the average flight on the Jakarta - Singapore route is 37 flights (take-off and landing) in one day, while the Jakarta - Singapore - Jakarta route has become one of the busiest international routes in the world.
Following up on this ACDM synergy plan, AP II and Changi Airport Group will form a joint team to discuss the implementation of ACDM.
Third, optimizing flights between AP II and Changi Airport Group with airlines during this recovery period, by applicable regulations, will encourage flight optimization at AP II airports.
One of the ways to optimize flights is to encourage collaboration in flight operations, for example, passengers from Singapore to Jakarta can easily continue flights to other AP II airports.
"This second meeting between AP II and Changi Airport Group will be followed up by forming a joint team between the two airport operators so that the goal of accelerating flight recovery can be achieved", he concluded.
