TU Vocational High School 4 Tangerang Regency Burns, Principal Says Certificate Damage

TANGERANG - SMK 4, Tigaraksa, Tangerang Regency caught fire. The fire is thought to have started from an electrical short circuit. Head of Emergency and Logistics BPBD Tangerang Regency, Abdul Munir said the incident occurred on Tuesday, August 2, at 16.50 WIB.

"The cause is suspected to be an electrical short circuit, which burned was the administrative room (TU). There were wet documents," Abdul said when confirmed, Tuesday, August 2.

Abdul ensured that the incident did not result in any casualties. However, the loss is estimated at Rp. 200 million.

"The fire was successfully extinguished. There were no casualties. As for the loss of Rp. 200 million," he said.

The Principal (Kepsek) of SMK 4 Tangerang Regency, Suharni explained, the fire was first noticed by a student.

"Students are learning to smell the smoke and then they run away. We try to put it out with the fire extinguisher (APAR) we have, but in the end we call the firefighters because the distance is not far," he said.

The burned part of this school is the TU room. According to him, due to the fire incident, several documents were affected, one of which was a report card.

Furthermore, he said that the documents affected were not burned, but wet.

"There is also a little bit of water on the certificate, it will be secured first, identified if there is something that is not feasible, so I have said that I can ask for a replacement," he said.

"Only if the report card can still be reprinted. If you have a diploma, you also ask for this procedure," he continued.
