Data Proves, Jake Paul Is The World's Most Hated Boxer
JAKARTA - Data proves that Jake Paul is "the most hated boxer in the world". Meanwhile, boxing fans love Tyson Fury.
Research compiled by Gambling.com has ranked fighters based on online sentiment towards them, both positive and negative, on Reddit and Twitter.
Although Leo Santa Cruz came out top on the negative sentiment chart, his score was skipped after Paul entered the count, with data also comparing him to KSI.
As a result, Paul was named the most hated boxer in the world with 32.3 percent negative sentiment towards him, compared to 18.9 percent negative towards fellow YouTuber-turned-KSI boxers.
Elsewhere in the negative chart, Cruz had 31.5 percent and finished just 0.1 percent ahead of light welterweight champion Josh Taylor, who controversially defended his belt against Jack Catterall in February.
Deontay Wilder was third in the rankings before Paul was included and is one of four fighters to appear in both top 10, alongside Jermell Charlo, Anthony Joshua, and Canelo Alvarez.
As for Fury, he topped the positive list with a rating of 28.2 percent, finishing ahead of the aforementioned Shakur Stevenson and Canelo.
Fury's thrilling trilogy with Wilder and his return to being a two-time world champion before retiring earlier this year has made him one of boxing's most beloved stars.
Meanwhile, Paul is a polarizing figure in the sport since making the transition from a controversial internet celebrity to a professional fighter.

Although he is unbeaten through five professional fights, he has never faced a fellow boxer in the ring. His opponents to date include mixed martial artists and former NBA players.
His attempts to face fellow boxers have so far failed, in which two fights; against Fury's brother Tommy and his successor Hasim Rahman Jr. were canceled at the last minute.
The pair were due to face off at Madison Square Garden this weekend after Rahman Jr replaced Fury. However, the fight was canceled.
