Japanese Potential Triathlete Tsudoi Miyazaki Dies Horribly While Cycling
JAKARTA - The world of triathlon sports is shrouded in grief. Japanese athlete Tsudoi Miyazaki tragically died in a car crash in France.
The 25-year-old was in training camp just days after competing at the Pontevedra World Cup in Spain before being run over on Wednesday this week.
"World Triathlon and Japan Triathlon Union would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, coach and team-mates of Ms Miyazaki," World Triathlon said in a statement, citing The Sun.
According to a report from Triathlon.org, Miyazaki was riding his bicycle when the accident happened. He was hit in Orleans, a city 69 miles outside Paris.
So far, the investigation into the incident is still ongoing. French police have also not released any information regarding the incident.
The Japan Triathlon Union has sent additional resources to assist French authorities in the investigation.

Miyazaki is one of Japan's potential triathlon athletes. He was born in Toyama City before he took his triathlon education in college.
He won the Japan U-23 Triathlon Championship in 2019 and is one of the strong candidates to appear in the 2024 Paris Olympics and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
The chances of getting a medal at the quadrennial sporting event are also very large. Miyazaki was ranked 142 in the women's World Triathlon Ranking at the time of her death.
His last race came on Sunday when he finished 50th in the World Cup race in Pontevedra, Spain.
