Even though he has joined Sony, Bungie has promised to maintain his independence in developing games creatively.
"At SIE, we have found a partner who unconditionally supports us in every way and who wants to accelerate our vision of creating entertainment that spans generations, while maintaining the creative independence that beats in Bungie's heart," Bungie said in the initial announcement of the acquisition.
With this acquisition, Sony plans to lean on Bungie for the development of a world-class multi-platform game and game streaming service and expand PlayStation to hundreds of millions of players.
As a mission to expand its game to more players, Sony also shared that they are launching a digital collection as a gift for its players.
Although players have to collect coins by playing first, Sony says that these rewards don't go into the NFT or blockchain.
