Soaring 110 Percent, RI Prints A Trade Surplus Of 24.8 Billion Dollars In Semester I 2022
JAKARTA – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that Indonesia managed to record a trade surplus of US$24.89 billion during the first semester of 2022.
Head of BPS Margo Yuwono said that the score rose 110.22 percent when compared to the same period the previous year (year on year / yoy).
"This shows that we have a windfall from this surplus condition because the growth is very high," he said when giving a press statement through an online channel on Friday, July 15.
In detail, Margo explained that the value of Indonesia's exports in June 2022 reached 26.09 billion US dollars, an increase of 21.30 percent compared to exports in May 2022.
Meanwhile, compared to June 2021, the export value increased by 40.68 percent.
Meanwhile, the supporting commodities are vegetable/animal fats and oils, agricultural, forestry, fishery, and mining products.
"Cumulatively, the value of Indonesia's exports from January to June 2022 reached US$141.07 billion, an increase of 37.11 percent over the same period in 2021," he said.
Meanwhile, in terms of imports, in June 2022 it was recorded at 21.00 billion US dollars.
This figure is up 12.87 percent from the position in May 2022 and up 21.98 percent compared to June 2021.
The increase in imports occurred in machinery/mechanical equipment, consumer goods, as well as raw/auxiliary materials.
"During the first semester we experienced very impressive growth. This has a good impact on the Indonesian economy, especially in the second semester of 2022," concluded Margo.
