Minister Of Home Affairs Asks PKK Movement To Invite The Community For Booster Vaccines
JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Muhammad Tito Karnavian asked the Family Welfare and Empowerment Movement (PKK) to pay attention to the increase in COVID-19 cases and invite the public to get booster vaccinations.
"There are only two strategies, one is to wear a mask and the second is to speed up booster vaccinations. Masks are to prevent transmission, so they must be campaigned and distributed, while the second is the acceleration of booster vaccination," said the Minister of Home Affairs as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 13.
The Minister of Home Affairs conveyed that the successful handling of COVID-19 and the acceleration of the first and second doses of vaccines that had been carried out previously were part of the PKK's hard work.
Therefore, the Minister of Home Affairs asked the PKK to return to campaigning for the use of masks and invite the public to carry out booster vaccinations.
A booster vaccination is a COVID-19 vaccination after a person has received a complete primary dose of vaccination aimed at maintaining immunity levels and extending the period of protection.
"I ask the PKK to move in to distribute masks, encourage people to get booster vaccinations, campaign, and work together with the government to carry out booster vaccinations," he said.
The Minister of Home Affairs asked the PKK Movement to run programs in the health sector, especially posyandu and stunting management. Not only that, the Minister of Home Affairs asked the PKK Movement to be involved in helping the community to gain access to education.
"The programs that need PKK attention, I ask that the first is the COVID-19 pandemic because the cases have increased again, not only in Indonesia, (but) throughout the world, meaning that the COVID-19 pandemic is not over," he said.
