Twitter Launches New Unmentioning Feature, Frees Users From Unwanted Conversations

JAKARTA - Twitter is widely rolling out an "unmentioning" feature for all users, which allows you to remove yourself from conversations that include your Twitter account. The platform first introduced the feature to a small group of users back in April, but it's now available to everyone.

You might want to use this feature yourself if you're stuck in a toxic conversation or just don't want to receive notifications for threads you follow. This feature does not mention will unmark your username, stop notifications for the thread, and also prevent anyone in the thread from tagging you again.

The feature itself is now in effect and can be used on all platforms. To use the "unmentioning" feature on yourself, select the tweet you're tagged in, then tap the three dots in the upper-right corner of the screen. From here, select Leave this conversation.

Although Tesla CEO Elon Musk is seeking to back out of his $44 billion deal to acquire Twitter, that hasn't stopped the platform from making new changes to the social media platform.

They are also currently testing ways to co-author tweets and are also looking for a new long-form Notes feature for users who are tired of the 280 character limit.
