Fisherman Lost In Torega Muna Waters Found Dead
KENDARI - The Kendari Basarnas stated that a fisherman who was reported missing on Friday (8/7) while fishing in Torega Waters, Moasi Village, Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi was found dead.
Head of Basarnas Kendari Aris Sofing said the victim, La Ode Hasimu (59) was found dead after three days of search operations by the joint SAR team.
"The victim was found this morning at 08.50 WITA. The joint SAR team found the victim dead stranded on the edge of the mangrove forest about 1.3 NM from the last location where the victim was reported missing", he said as reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 11.
The combined SAR team personnel from the Muna SAR Alert Unit, Towea Police, Babinsa Moasi, Tampo Koramil, Muna Police, Wangkolabu Village officials, residents, and the victim's family then evacuated the victim's body for burial.
La Ode Hasimu, a resident of Napabalano Village, Napabalano District, Muna Regency, was reported missing on July 8, 2022 at around 06.00 WITA while fishing in Torega waters, Towea District.

La Ode Hasimu usually fished until noon, but on Friday, July 8 afternoon he had not yet returned home, and his boat was found by a fisherman empty at 22.00 WITA.
The incident was then reported to National Search and Rescue Agency by Towea Police Chief, Ali Musmin, for a search. However, the victim was found dead on the third day of the search operation.
"With the discovery of the victim, the SAR operation is declared complete and closed, and all elements involved are returned to their respective units", said Aris.
